Hello,

On behalf of the staff and students of Highland Middle School, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our new school website.  Our school educates approximately  450 students covering 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  As this site continues to evolve, we hope to be able to use it as a strong source of information for our school community.

We pride ourselves on being a school that creates an environment in which students enjoy learning.  To that end, this is the second year the we have utilized PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to support the development of this environment.  Many of our 6th and 7th grade students have experience with this program from Highland Elementary School.  As the title suggests, the goal of this program is to support the growth of positive behavior in the school environment.  Students deserve to be recognized for behaving in positive ways.  The more positive behavior is recognized and celebrated, the more of it we will see from our students.

Additionally, the staff is highly committed to continued improvement of instructional practices.  We engage in this on-going work in order to help all of our students reach their potential.

As you review our website, feel free to contact us with questions or suggestions.

Dan Seyler-Wetzel, Principal

 Sincerely,
 Dan Seyler-Wetzel, Principal
