Spring 2021 Update
As the school year is nearing its close we want to update everyone on the progress that has been made this spring.
Mr. Haas, Mrs. Turski and Mrs. Heissenbuttel worked to keep the garden alive! With the help from Mrs. Bove pollinators were planted around the garden perimeter. Sophie Canino, Allie Fuller, Natasha McKenna, Jess Gentile, and Ndeye Ndiaye, all high school honor society volunteers, mulched, weeded the boxes, weeded the walkways and introduced fresh fertilizer into the boxes. Then the new season of herbs and vegetables, purchased through money donated to the garden from the CLYNK program, were planted. We are so grateful for everyone's helping hands.
We will be looking for volunteers to come water the garden, weed and harvest herbs and vegetables over the summer. In the fall we will again harvest for the intermediate cafeteria. If we have a large enough bounty we will share with the primary cafeteria as well.
