Supplies

  • All students are required to have their Instrument, Music, Folder (or Binder), Lesson book for every lesson and band rehearsal. Please make sure you have a name tag on your instrument!

     

    LESSON BOOK: Essential Elements, book 1. All students are required to have their own lesson book.

    Specific materials and cleaning supplies needed (in addition to your instrument) are listed below:

    Flute: Cleaning rod and cloth (you can use a handkerchief or cut off part of an old t-shirt/pillowcase).

    Clarinet: Three Rico 2 ½ reeds in your case, cork grease, and cleaning swab. Students should also have a full box of reeds at home. The swab should be included with your rental. 

    Saxophones: Three Rico 2 ½ reeds in your case, cork grease, cleaning swab (or "padsaver"). Students should also have a full box of reeds at home.

    Brass: Valve oil. All valves and slides should be clean and free moving. The cleaning kit is also recommended, but not necessary at this time. Trombone/Baritone/French horn players should consider getting a "mouthpiece pouch" to transport their mouthpiece back and forth to school (if they are using a school instrument for lessons/band).

    Percussion: Snare sticks and bell mallets, labeled with your name or initials. 

    SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENTS: ALL students borrowing school owned instruments are responsible for keeping them clean and in good working order.
