Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open on February 2, 2026. Parents and guardians of incoming Kindergarten students can stop by Highland High School (which is located at 320 Pancake Hollow Road) weekdays between 8 AM and 2 PM to pick up a registration packet. They can also call District Registrar Julie Miller at (845) 691-1032 to make other arrangements, if necessary.

Registration will remain open until May 1, 2026.

Kindergarten screening will take place on May 8, 2026, by appointment only. Once a registration packet is complete and all necessary documents are returned, an appointment time will be given to parents for their future students. Please note that in order to be eligible to register for Kindergarten, children must be five years of age by December 1, 2026. 

The most recent immunization record must be submitted with your child's last physical at the time of registration. A new physical and updated immunization record may be required prior to the start of the first day of school.

Additional documents required for registration are:

• Proof of student age: Birth certificate or Baptismal certificate or passport
• Proof of guardian identity: Valid state-issued driver or non-driver ID card or military picture ID
• Proof of guardianship (if applicable): Separation Agreement or Divorce Decree or Custodial documents or Court Order/ Guardianship or Order of Protection. Restraint or DSS-2999 (Foster) or Affidavit of Parent and Custodial Individual 
• Proof of residency: Lease, tax bill, driver's license, utility bill, paycheck stub, or tax return. (See Form 4 in registration packet for other proofs.) TWO forms of proof must be provided.

**The registration process will be halted if all documentation is not submitted with the registration packet.**
