Transportation

The Highland Central School District Transportation Department plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of student travel within the school district. With a fleet of well-maintained buses and a team of highly trained drivers and staff, the Department provides efficient transportation for students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events. 

The Department currently oversees 17 in-house bus routes (Routes A-P, Route 5, and Route 11). There are also two parochial routes, one to Stone Ridge and the other to Poughkeepsie. Additionally, there are eight out-of-district routes and six BOCES routes.

2026-2027 School Bus Routes

Important Notice for the 2026-2027 School Year: Due to a New York State Department of Transportation road closure on Route 44/55 beginning in early August, several Highland Central School District bus routes have been adjusted for the start of the school year. If your child rides Route C, Route D, or Route N, please review the route information carefully, as pickup and drop-off times and/or locations may have changed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to safely transport students during this temporary detour.
