    What is a School Social Worker?

    A School Social Worker is a licensed mental health professional who is also certified to practice in a school. The School Social Worker is trained in and knowledgable about system change and acts as a change agent in identifying areas of need, documenting problems and collaborating as appropriate to develop and implement interventions that lead to successful student outcomes.

    Our Mission: School Social Workers work within the school setting to strengthen the social/emotional well being of all students in order to enhance academic and personal goals.

    The responsibilities of a School Social Worker include, but are not limited to: assessments, counseling,conflict mediation,community referral and liasion work, youth suicide prevention, crisis intervention and child and family advocacy.

    There is one School Social Worker in each of the three buildings, elementary, middle and high school. Please refer to the school pages at the left  for contact information.
