No-Cost Breakfast and Lunch Available to All Highland Students

The Highland Central School District is pleased to announce that all students will once again be eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch at no cost on every full school day.

This is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) designation and funding provided to the District by the New York State Education Department. CEP allows schools to provide daily meals to all students at no cost to families, without requiring individual households to submit a Free/Reduced Price Lunch application.

Families Encouraged to Complete Household Income Eligibility Form

Although Free/Reduced Price Lunch applications are not required, the District strongly encourages all families to complete a Household Income Eligibility Form each year, regardless of their circumstances or needs.

Information collected through these forms helps determine eligibility for additional State and federal program benefits, which may include discounts on home internet service, academic testing, college applications, and more.

Completing the form also helps the District qualify for important funding and resources, including support for programs such as Title I. These resources provide valuable benefits to Highland students, staff, and families.

Additional Meals and À La Carte Purchases

While each student is eligible for one no-cost breakfast and one no-cost lunch on every full school day, additional meals and à la carte items—such as snacks and bottled water—will be available for purchase.

Families who would like their children to purchase these items may add funds to their child’s account by sending cash or a check to their child’s school or by using MySchoolBucks, a secure online meal payment system available at www.myschoolbucks.com. Please note that transaction fees apply to online payments.

School Menus and More Information

School breakfast and lunch menus will be available on the District’s Food Services page throughout the school year.
