Dear Highland Central School District Community,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I hope our students, families, faculty, and staff had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to another great year together in Highland. We are eager to welcome our students back to our schools on Tuesday, September 8, and officially begin the 2026–2027 school year together.

This school year is especially meaningful to me as I begin my first year serving as Superintendent of Schools and my 18th year as a member of the Highland Central School District. Over the past seventeen years, I have had the privilege of serving Highland in several different roles, each of which has given me the opportunity to work alongside our students, families, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members. Those experiences have shaped who I am as an educator and leader and have given me a deep appreciation for what makes Highland such a special place.

As Superintendent, my commitment is to build upon the many strengths that already exist throughout our district while continuing to look for ways we can grow and improve. Our schools should be places where students feel supported, challenged, connected, and excited about learning. We will continue to focus on providing high-quality educational experiences, supporting the dedicated people who work with our students each day, strengthening our partnerships with families and the community, and preparing our students for the opportunities and challenges that await them beyond Highland.

I believe strongly that the success of a school district is built upon relationships, trust, communication, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for students. I look forward to spending time in our schools, classrooms, athletic fields, performances, activities, and community events throughout the year and continuing to listen and learn from the people who make up our Highland community.

To our returning students and families, welcome back. To those joining Highland for the first time, we are excited to have you as part of our school community. And to our faculty and staff, thank you for the dedication, care, and professionalism you bring to our students each day.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community as Superintendent and excited about what we can accomplish together. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I wish all of our students, families, faculty, and staff a successful and rewarding year.
