On June 24, Highland Elementary School proudly celebrated a major milestone for its Grade 5 students during a heartwarming Moving-Up Ceremony that marked the end of their elementary school journeys and the beginning of a new chapter in middle school.
Despite the sweltering heat, families, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to honor the achievements of the Grade 5 class and reflect on how far these young learners have come since their very first days of Kindergarten. The event served as both a celebration of hard work and a joyful send-off for the students who will eventually become the Highland High School Class of 2032.
Dressed in matching Highland Husky t-shirts, the soon-to-be middle schoolers took the stage to receive certificates and applause, beaming with pride as their names were called.
The ceremony was filled with emotion, laughter, and a sense of excitement as families looked on, capturing photos and cheering for their children’s achievements. It was a fitting tribute to the bonds formed, lessons learned, and memories made during these formative years.
Highland Elementary School extends its heartfelt thanks to all the guests who attended—especially those who braved the summer temperatures to show their support—and to the faculty and staff who helped make the day so special.
Congratulations to our Grade 5 Huskies, and hats off to the future Highland Class of 2032! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do in middle school and beyond.
