Highland Elementary Celebrates 100 Days of School

Highland Elementary marked a significant milestone on February 24 as students celebrated the 100th day of school in a way that was both meaningful and memorable. Classrooms were filled with excitement—and plenty of gray hair and suspenders—as our youngest Huskies in Grades K-2 arrived dressed as 100-year-olds. From oversized glasses and cozy cardigans to mustaches and curlers, students fully embraced the spirit of the day, bringing plenty of personality and creativity to the celebration.

Beyond the adorable outfits, the 100th day of school is an important academic benchmark for early learners. Throughout the day, students participated in engaging, hands-on activities centered around the number 100. Classrooms buzzed with counting exercises, creative art projects, writing prompts, and collaborative challenges designed to reinforce math and literacy skills in fun and interactive ways. Whether building collections of 100 items, completing 100-piece crafts, or practicing counting by tens, students strengthened foundational skills while celebrating how far they’ve come this school year.

Teachers also used the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on growth and progress. The 100th day provides a moment to recognize the hard work students have put in since the first day of school. For many of our Huskies, it’s a powerful representation of perseverance—100 days of learning, friendship, and new experiences.

From counting and creating to laughing and learning, the day was filled with smiles and memorable moments. The District is proud of its young students and all they have accomplished in the first 100 days. If this celebration is any indication, the rest of the school year will continue to be full of enthusiasm, achievement, and joyful learning.
