Highland Students Spread Valentine’s Cheer to Local Veterans

Highland High School’s Interact Club partnered with students at Highland Elementary School on February 5 for a meaningful, cross-generational activity centered on gratitude and service. Together, students created Valentine’s cards that will be delivered to U.S. veterans as a heartfelt thank-you for their service.

The visit brought together the High School students and some of Highland’s youngest Huskies, giving students the opportunity to connect while working toward a shared purpose. District Aide for Congressman Pat Ryan, Brandon Gonzalez, joined the group and participated alongside students, further emphasizing the importance of community involvement and civic engagement.

Through this collaborative effort, students were able to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans while spreading kindness and appreciation in a creative and personal way. The completed cards will be distributed to veterans as small but meaningful tokens of gratitude, reinforcing the District’s commitment to service learning and community connection.
