Kindergarten Students Bring “Where the Wild Things Are” to Life

The “Wild Things” made their annual return to Highland Elementary School as Kindergarten students brought Maurice Sendak’s beloved classic, Where the Wild Things Are, to life during this year’s Wild Rumpuses on October 29 and 30.

Donning colorful, handmade masks, the young Huskies transformed into the story’s imaginative creatures and joined Max—King of the Wild Things—for a lively performance filled with roaring, clawing, stomping, and teeth-gnashing fun.

In addition to acting out the story, students showcased several of the color songs they’ve been learning since September, delighting families and staff with their enthusiasm and creativity.

Once again, the annual Wild Rumpus was a “wildly” good time for all at Highland Elementary School!
