CIA Students Launch Capstone Projects with Community Impact

Students in Christina Saylor’s Citizens in Action (CIA) classes at Highland High School have begun developing their Capstone Projects for the year. These projects challenge students to make a meaningful impact—through supporting local causes, raising awareness, and strengthening connections within the community.

In addition to driving positive change, students also work toward earning the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness, a distinction that recognizes civic knowledge, skills, and real-world engagement. The District looks forward to seeing the thoughtful initiatives this year’s CIA students will create and share.
