On June 16, Grade 6 students at Highland Middle School welcomed classmates, families, and staff to their annual Culture Day celebration, a culminating event showcasing their learning in Social Studies.

As part of their final project, students researched countries from around the world and created informative displays highlighting each nation’s geography, history, traditions, and cultural contributions. The event transformed the school into a global showcase, with students sharing their knowledge and engaging visitors in conversations about the countries they studied.

Adding to the experience, students and their families prepared and served a variety of traditional foods representing the cultures featured in their projects. Classmates had the opportunity to sample dishes from around the world while learning about the customs and heritage behind them.

Culture Day provided a meaningful opportunity for students to demonstrate their research skills, celebrate cultural diversity, and connect classroom learning to real-world experiences. The event was a vibrant reflection of the curiosity, creativity, and hard work of Highland Middle School’s Grade 6 students.
