Highland Middle School proudly inducted 32 new members into its National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) chapter during a special ceremony held on June 11.

Membership in NJHS is one of the highest honors a middle school student can achieve, recognizing students who exemplify the organization's five pillars: scholarship, leadership, citizenship, service, and character. The newly inducted members have demonstrated excellence both in the classroom and throughout the school community, earning this distinction through their hard work, integrity, and commitment to helping others.

The newest members of Highland Middle School's NJHS are Ishan Alam, Camila Ayala Serrano, Jacob Branda, Maddox Cohn, Skylar Constantino, Samuel Cruz, Vincent D’Ambrosio, Hope Detweiler, Avianna DiStasi, Amanda Douglass, Margaret Drivas, Sarah Finch, Lianna Fischer, Elijah Galicia, Dylan Gatto, Aria Gorton, Wynn Granieri, Jacob Harris, Emily Holton, Mason Kane, Alyssa Newton, Abigail Page, Fanny Perez Cortez, Hazel Perry, Mary Petrosoff, Venus Pinto Lopez, Mia Pregno, Mia Pullman, Sienna Reid, Antonio Triolo, Chloe Valentino, and Qifei Wang.

The ceremony was led by current NJHS President Autumn Ellison, who guided inductees through the proceedings and welcomed them into the organization. Special thanks also go to NJHS Advisor Kathleen Nugent for her leadership and dedication in overseeing the chapter and coordinating this meaningful event.

The Highland Central School District congratulates the new NJHS members on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to the many ways they will continue to serve as leaders and role models within the school and community.
