Highland High School’s second “Taste of Success” program was, well, a success!
Domenic Baiocco, a commercial loan officer at Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan, and Michael Horodyski, the bank’s president and CEO, met with students on November 15 to discuss the banking profession and share basics about savings vs. checking accounts, credit cards, college loans, and more.
The students were visibly engaged, taking in information and asking questions, all while enjoying a pizza lunch.
Last month, Matt Bahr, owner of TRC Auto, met with High School students to discuss various career paths in the automotive industry. Barr also shared some practical car-care tips with the students in attendance.
These two visits were part of a new program at the High School called “A Taste of Success.” As part of the program, representatives from various local businesses are being invited to the school each month to help educate students about the different trade industries and career options available to them after graduation.
Thank you to these individuals for encouraging our students to think about their futures!
