Highland High School Concert a Rockin' Good Time

What a night! On January 19, the Music Industry Explorations class at Highland High School (HHS) put on an awesome show featuring 1970s-themed performances by the HHS Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and Choir.

An ensemble made up of Highland music teachers Dan Shaut, Karen Adamec, Jodie McCaffrey, Matthew Hogan, Vincent Rizzi, and Erin Mathews also rocked out, much to the delight of audience members in the packed auditorium.

The evening’s headliner was guest vocalist Keith Anthony Fluitt, a professional singer who took the stage to belt out popular covers including “Fantasy” by Earth, Wind, and Fire, “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder, and “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5.

The concert was sponsored by the Highland Music Boosters, Jacobs Music Center, and Bridge Arts and Education, and produced by HHS students Lily Belle Sgroe, Gavin Lanery, and Jayden St. Clair. It was a rockin’ good time!
