Board of Education Petitions Available
Petitions for nominating candidates for the office of the Board of Education of the Highland Central School District are available now. Completed petitions, with the signatures of twenty-five (25) qualified District voters, must be filed with the District Clerk no later than 5 PM on Monday, April 17, 2023. The term of office is for three (3) years.
The following vacancies, which expire on June 30, 2023, are to be filled:
- Term of Alan Barone
- Term of Heather Welch
In order to be considered as a candidate, an individual must be at least 18 years old, a qualified voter in the Highland Central School District, and able to read and write. They must also have been a resident of the District continuously for one year prior to the election.
Petitions can be picked up at the Central Office, located at 320 Pancake Hollow Road in Highland, Mondays through Fridays, from 8 AM - 4 PM. Candidates may also contact District Clerk Lisa Cerniglia to request to receive a petition electronically.
