Incredible music news from Highland High School! 

We are thrilled to announce that six exceptionally talented students have been selected into the prestigious Area All-State ensembles! 

Joining the Symphonic Orchestra will be Lena Tran, Grade 11 (flute); and Gisella Shaut, Grade 9 (double bass). The Symphonic Band will include Sophia Cascio, Grade 10 (clarinet); Alexander Papazov, Grade 12 (trombone); and Arianna Wallen, Grade 12 (flute). Sahar Mokal, Grade 11 (mallet percussion) will be an alternate.

These outstanding musicians earned their spots based on the high ratings they received at the NYSSMA solo festival held last spring. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for music truly paid off! The Area All-State ensembles comprise the absolute best high school student musicians from a five-county region of New York.

The students will prepare professional-level music in advance of the Area All-State festival, which will be held at Wallkill High School on November 17-18. The festival will culminate in a spectacular concert on November 18.
