District Continues to Provide No-Cost Meals

The Highland Central School District is pleased to announce that all students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year. This is being made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a state-funded program designed to ensure that all children have access to nutritious meals.

The CEP affords schools the opportunity to provide all students with daily meals at no cost to families, without requiring a Free/Reduced Price Lunch application to be filled out by individual households.

While applications are not required, the District strongly encourages all families to fill out a Household Income Eligibility form, regardless of their circumstances or needs. This form is used to determine eligibility for additional State and federal program benefits that you may qualify for. Examples of these benefits include discounts on home internet costs, academic testing, college applications, and more. Filling out the form each year also helps improve the District’s access to additional benefits and opportunities, such as expanded funding for initiatives such as Title I, and other resources for students, staff, and families.

The form will be mailed home to families and can be returned to your child's school at the start of the school year. It can also be downloaded here.
